About

The mountains of Colorado drew Diane from her hometown in Connecticut more than thirty years ago. Since then she's been an avid hiker on the Boulder foothills, watching the skies above and the wildflowers below. Working in oils, she creates paintings that recall summertime mountain walks. With an artist's license she creates colorful and uplifting landscapes that put the viewer on those very trails. She paints many layers ( a “mild” impasto), at times starting with several colors that become the underpainting for the landscapes, which may disappear by the time the painting is completed. The majority of her work is done with palette knives.

She studied at CU Boulder Fine Art Department and attended Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, where she received an Associate Degree in Design and Illustration.

Her work hangs in private homes and office spaces across the country.
